DIMAPUR: As part of the ongoing Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations, the Department of Art & Culture in collaboration with the Home Department inaugurated the “Har Ghar Tiranga” Exhibition 2026 at Nagaland Civil Secretariat.
The initiative calls upon citizens to bring the Tiranga into their homes and hoist it with pride to commemorate India’s Independence. Beyond symbolism, the campaign seeks to foster a personal connection with the National Flag as an embodiment of unity and nation building. This year’s campaign also marks the 150th anniversary of India’s national song, “Vande Mataram.”
According to DIPR report, gracing the occasion as special guest, Kuko Mero, secretary Home, said the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is designed to showcase the unity, strength and integrity of the nation. He emphasized that the exhibition is a core component of the broader Har Ghar Tiranga 2026 initiative, which will be accompanied by commemorative activities in the coming days.
The programme was chaired by Kr. Temjenjungla, Assistant Archivist, Department of Art & Culture, and witnessed the presence of senior officials including Elizabeth Ngullie, secretary Home Department; Bodeno S Colo, commissioner & secretary, Art & Culture; Adela Moa, director, Art & Culture, along with officers and staff from both departments.
The curated exhibition is designed to immerse visitors in India’s historical heritage and evoke patriotic pride. Students, citizens and members of the public are invited to explore the displays and participate in the celebrations.
To capture the spirit of the occasion, dedicated Photo Booths have been installed at two locations: Gate No. 1, Nagaland Civil Secretariat (Main Exhibition Venue) and State Museum. Visitors are encouraged to take photographs and selfies with the National Flag and upload them to the official Har Ghar Tiranga portal.
