A press release by HASSU president Abovi K Awomi stated that while development of road was no doubt the need of the hour yet at the same it cannot be done at the cost of public health.

The union stated that the pollution due to dust particles especially from Padumpukhuri- Purana bazaar due to ongoing development work was “beyond imaginable” and has become a major threat for public health and environment.

Therefore, taking into account of the health of the students plying along the said stretch of road, the union has requested the authority to immediately take proper measures.
