Hav Mering Ao Centre of Excellence inaugurated

Hav Mering Ao, Shaurya Chakra Centre of Excellence and Wellness, an initiative jointly undertaken by the Assam Rifles and National Integrity and Educational Development Organisation (NIEDO) was inaugurated on Tuesday at Town Hall, Mokokchung by Lt Gen Vikas Lakhera, AVSM, SM, Director General Assam Rifles.
Addressing the gathering, Lt Gen Lakhera described the centre as a beacon of courage, excellence, and hope. He stated that meritorious students from Nagaland, Assam, and Arunachal Pradesh are set to embark on a transformative journey. Highlighting the achievements of NIEDO’s earlier centres at Ghaspani and Chieswema, he noted their 100% success rate in NEET and JEE, calling it a testament to resilience, discipline, and belief.
He affirmed that the inauguration marks not just the opening of a facility, but the fulfilment of a promise to nurture future leaders. He lauded the vision of NIEDO and the support of Axis Bank Foundation, whose commitment to grassroots transformation goes beyond CSR, serving as a deep investment in youth development. Lt Gen Lakhera emphasized that the centre is not merely a coaching institute but a mission to honour the legacy of Hav Mering Ao, Shaurya Chakra, by preparing youth to serve the nation across diverse fields including medicine, technology, commerce, and research.
Earlier, brief speeches were delivered by IGAR (N), president Ao Senden, and president Kohima Aoer Telongjem. The programme also featured cultural performances by various troupes.
