HCMC Amahator seeks better health facilities

Anguished over the poor state of Primary Health Centre (PHC) Amahator, Health Centre Management Committee (HCMC) of PHC Amahator has asked the department of Health and Family (H&FW) to improve the PHC health facilities.

In a press release, HCMC Amahator chairman Khariba Sangtam said the committee held a meeting Tuesday at Amahator Town to discuss the poor state of the PHC, which was in a dilapidated situation.

HCMC said the building structure of PHC was on the “verge of collapse” and that only one Auxiliary Nurse and Midwifery (ANM) was functioning the PHC.

In this regard, the committee has demanded staff nurse (General Nurse and Midwifery), laboratory technician, pharmacist and a new PHC building.

The meeting was attended by village council chairmen, village health committee, PHC staff and GBs from six villages.
