Hamro Chinhari Nagaland Prant (HCNP) will be hosting the 211th Bhanu Jayanti celebration—a literature and cultural festival—on July 13 at Holy Cross Higher Secondary School Auditorium Hall.
Announcing the event at a press conference, HCNP president and programme convenor Shiva Kumar highlighted the festival’s aim to celebrate and promote literary and cultural heritage while fostering unity among Gorkhas in Dimapur.
The event will also feature the presentation of the Arthur Edward Award for excellence to Gorkha HSLC and HSSLC toppers from Dimapur. Kumar extended an invitation to all Gorkhas in Dimapur to participate and noted that delegations from Delhi, Assam, Darjeeling, and other regions would attend.
The celebration will include various literary competitions.
Bhanu Jayanti commemorates Bhanubhakta Acharya, the renowned Nepali poet, translator, and writer who translated the Ramayana from Sanskrit to Nepali.
