Health department recalls paracetamol oral suspension

Drugs Control Administration (DCA), directorate of Health & Family Welfare has recalled paracetamol oral suspension I.P (60 ml), manufactured by M/s Zee Laboratories, found to be of substandard quality.
In a communiqué, additional drugs controller & licensing authority, WH Patton said that the sample of the drug drawn from Government Medical Store has been declared as “Not of Standard Quality” (NSQ) by the Regional Drugs Testing Laboratory.
In this regard, the department has issued directive to inspect all government medical stores and outlets, seize available stock and submit detailed report.
Generic name: Paracetamol oral suspension I.P (60 ml), batch no. 622-412, manufacture/expiry date: July, 2022 to June 2024, manufacturer M/s Zee Lab.
Meanwhile, CMO Mokokchung Dr. Limatula Aier, in compliance with a directive from Pharmacy Cell Directorate of Health & Family Welfare, issued directive to all concerned officers of all health units to stop issuing the drug.
