Health Mela conducted at Nokhu in Noklak

The District Health Society (DHS) Noklak under chief medical officer (CMO) conducted a Health Mela at Nokhu SC Noklak on March 16 providing free health care services to the local community covering a population of above 3200.


According to a DIPR report, District Programme Manager (DPM) C. Hosea stated that, the health Mela offered ranges of service including free consultation, immunization, diagnostics test including blood pressure, sugar, widal test, scrub typhus, HIV-TB and FGD for adolescent, family planning and maternal health.


The team provided free services to over 250 patients who attended the Mela.
In an introductory note, chief medical officer (CMO), Dr. N. C Victor said that the Health Mela was organize with an aim of providing accessible and affordable health care services to the rural population and to raise awareness about the importance of Health and Hygiene and also brought to the knowledge about the rise in cases of Non-Communicable Disease (NCD) under Noklak for which free NCD screening was given during the Health Mela.


The Mela was attended by Medical Officers and staff of District Hospital. The District Health Society Noklak expressed its gratitude to the local authorities, health care workers and volunteers who contributed to the successful conduct of the Mela.
