In an effort to ensure optimal delivery of health schemes to the economically weaker sections, the District Health Society Zunheboto organized a Community Health Centre Weekly Health Mela at CHC Aghunato on October 1.
Medical Officer, CHC Aghunato, Dr. Kipito Awomi, highlighted the nationwide scope of Ayushman Bhavah campaign initiated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Various District Programme Officials provided insights into the activities and health initiatives.
The Health Mela witnessed the participation of a team of dedicated doctors, including Dr. K. Akaho Sema, Dr. Heroto, Dr. Kanato, and others offering wide range of specialty services such as General medicine, ENT, Eye care, Dental, and Ayush services. Additionally, laboratory facilities for diseases like HIV, Syphilis, Hepatitis, and others were made available for the public.
A key highlight of the mela was the screening for non-communicable diseases, mainly hypertension and diabetes. The AapkeDwar 3.0 initiative also played a pivotal role in the event, facilitating the on-spot creation and registration of ABHA ID Cards/CMHIS for beneficiaries. The mela saw the distribution of free medicines and eye spectacles, and 365 beneficiaries availed various health services. A total of 25 ABHA/CMHIS ID cards were issued, and a pledge on organ donation was taken by participants.
