Health mela conducted in Shamator

District Health Society (DHS), Health & Family Welfare Tuensang organized a one-day health mela at Shamator block, Tuensang on April 26. Villagers from Waphur, Sangphur, Chassier, Leangkiur Shamator villages and citizens of Shamator town availed of the medical services in the camp.

A press release from CMO office, media officer, Apheang stated that the medical team was led by CMO, Dr. T. Pangjung Sangtam and deputy CMO, Dr. I. Temsu Longchar accompanied by five MOs, seven nurses, different vertical programmers, two FWAs, district coordinator PM-JAY and DPMU staff.
A total number of 301 OPD were registered, 24 dental extractions done and 31 Malaria blood tests were carried out during the camp. IEC materials like pregnancy test-kits, and family planning, JSY/JSSK, non-communicable disease pamphlets in the local dialect were also distributed during the camp.
CMO, IEC team and DCM conducted three sessions of FGD/IPC at PHC Shamator, Leangkonger and Shamator villages on the importance of family planning, child health and maternal health materials. A school health team, led by an SHP coordinator with two health assistants, also visited three schools and gave health talks on cleanliness and the 4Ds to around 2500 students.
