Health melas organised across State

A one day health mela was organized by the District Health Society, Longleng, in Nyang village on February 4 at Government Middle School, Nyang village.
During the health mela, the team was led by CMO Longleng, Dr. Bendang Jamir, DPO (RCH/UIP), Dr. Imtiwabang Aier, DPO(RNTCP), Dr. Lanuchuba, Dr. Molungtsungba Jamir, Epideomiologist (IDSP), MO Yongnyah PHC, Dr. Manan Phom, MO Yachem PHC, Dr. Lingshau James Phom, Dr.Suimzenla SHP, Ayush district hospital Longleng, Dr.Zhakali, NVBDCP, RNTCP, NSACS,ANMs, bab technicians and DPMU unit.
Altogether, 341 patients availed free health services and basic free medicines were provided such as cough syrup, antibiotic, basic ointments, condoms, contraceptive pills and emergency injectables. Other services such as copper T insertion 11, ANC 9 and 8 sputum were also collected and 34 blood smears were examined.
District community mobilizer, district media officer , block programme manager and Asha coordinator had an interactive session with pregnant mothers and gave counseling on the topic  maternal health, family planning, child health and immunization and nutritional package were also given to the pregnant mothers.IEC materials such as posters and leaflets on English and local dialect were distributed to the villagers.
In a separate programme, a health mela was held at Wakching in Mon district on February 3 on the theme “Be responsible of your own health”.
During the mela patients availed free consultation from 16 doctors led by Dr. UK Konyak, CMO, Mon; Dr. Supongmenla, DPO, (UIP & RCH); Dr. Imyangluba, DPO, RNTCP; Dr. Aman (gynaecologist); Dr Yanang (Anesthetist); Dr. Ngampa (PMR); Dr. I Simon (Senior Dental specialist); Dr. Chingmang Paul (pediatrician); Dr. Yingnai (ENT); Dr. Phyebemo (ENT); Dr. Igumpuele; Dr. Vijay; Dr. Ravindar; Dr. Methna; Dr Elizabeth (Ayush); Dr. Kainnyu(Ayush); along with 11 nurses, 3 lab technician, 1 vaccinator, 1 pharmacist, 1 ophthalmic assistants and the ASHAs.
Altogether, 556 patients turned up which included 13 ANC, 73 dental cases, 219 general  cases , 86 gynae patients , 76 PMR patients , 8 ophthalmic cases, 5 ENT, 46 pedia, 7 IUCD insertion.
Meanwhile, District Health Society (DHS), Tuensang, has conducted a health mela on February 3 at PHC Shrinagesh, Tuensang, under Tuensang Sadar Block. Doctors from District Hospital, PHC staff, DPMU and BPMU staff participated in the programme.
During mela, integrated services on maternal health, child health, family planning, NDCPs, RNTCP, ICTC and NVBDCP were imparted. IPC, film screening and group discussion were also organised during the Mela. IEC/BCC materials were distributed to the community.
