A training programme on Health Management Information System/ Mother and Child Tracking System (HMIS/MCTS) cum review meeting of the medical officers and nurses was conducted by Office of the Chief Medical Officer, Kohima, along with District Health Society, Department of Health and Family Welfare, National Health Mission (NHM) at chief medical officer’s office conference hall on January 28 to 30.
A three-day training programme was attended by 103 Programme Officers, Medical Officers, BPMs and health workers.
On the first day, altogether 29 officers and nurses attended the training. The resource persons for the training were SPMU deputy director Dr. Khriezotuo Paphino, Assistant MCTS SPMU programme manager Abeni and MCTS SPMU Assistant Kihoni.
The first session was taken up by Khriezotuo with presentation on overview of Reproductive and Child Health (RCH) registers. He informed the Medical Officers & Block Programme Managers (BPM) to impart better hands on training to their respective health workers.
Khriezotuo further instructed the gathering to follow-up new RCH registers for reporting by next month. Khriezotuo pointed out that the data entered at the registers should accurately compile with correct information, as the system of information directly reaches the Ministry.
The second session was taken up by Abeni on Unstructured Supplementary Service Date (USSD) where she mentioned the components of USSD to the BPMs. She further instructed the BPMs to implement the data regularly by logging-in. Abeni also informed the gathering that USSD application should be accurately learned by the health workers.
Training for Kohima block, Sechü block and Jakhama block nurses was conducted on January 29. Altogether 45 nurses attended the training. The resource persons were DPO (UIP-RCH) Dr. Avile Zao, SMO Tseminyu CHC Dr. Tinenlo James and DPM Kevin Zinyu. Chiephobozou block and Tseminyu block was conducted on January 30 where 29 health workers attended the training.
