District level training on Routine Immunization Manual (RIM) for Health Workers was held on March 19, 2025 at the Chief Medical Officer’s conference hall in Mokokchung.
Resource persons of the training were DPO (UIP & RCH), Dr. Limanaro, Consultant WHO (RRT), Dr. Mhechekhro Mero and Achila C VCCM.
SIO, directorate of Health and Family Welfare, Kohima, Dr. Imkong Temsu Longchar, presented an overview of the training. He urged health workers to adapt and innovate to achieve 100% vaccination coverage, focusing on zero-dose vaccination. He also highlighted the importance of headcount surveys, uploading, and reporting.
DPO (UIP & RCH), Dr. Limanaro, Consultant WHO (RRT), Dr. Mhechekhro Mero and Achila C VCCM covered topics on the roles and responsibilities of health workers in routine immunization, RI micro planning, safe injection practices, IPC and BMW, conducting RI sessions, AEFI, cold chain, U-Win, and VPD surveillance.
The training, aimed at CHOs, GNMs, LHVs, and ANMs, continued till March 20, 2025 for Senior Medical Officers, Medical Officers, and DPMUs. Trainees also participated in pre- and post-tests. Earlier, welcome note was proposed by Chief Medical Officer Mokokchung, Dr. Sentizungla Marina Yaden.
