India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday predicted that heavy rainfall activity was likely over North East region during the next five days. IMD stated light/moderate scattered to fairly widespread rainfall/thunderstorm with isolated heavy rainfall activity very likely over Assam & Meghalaya and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during September 9-12 and Arunachal Pradesh on September 10.
