DIMAPUR, JUL 25 (NPN): District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Dimapur has imposed restrictions on the movement of 10-wheeler and other overloaded heavy vehicles on National Highway-29 and National Highway-2 with immediate effect until further orders due to the deteriorating road condition caused by incessant rainfall.
In an order, deputy commissioner and DDMA chairman Dr. Tinojongshi Chang said the restrictions have been imposed to ensure public safety, prevent traffic congestion, and minimize further damage to roads and other public infrastructure.
The order prohibits the movement of such vehicles on the notified stretches unless prior permission is obtained from the competent authority.
Traffic police, the police department, and other enforcement agencies have been directed to strictly enforce the order. Violators will face action under applicable rules, and all vehicle owners, transporters, drivers, and operators have been directed to comply.
