Heavy vehicles restricted over Chathe river

PWD (R&B) Dimapur division said that due to the ongoing construction work for a Bailey Bridge at 4th Mile over Chathe river behind Referral (CIHSR) Hospital, heavy vehicles have been restricted from plying through the sub-ways provided till further notice.
In a notice, PWD (R&B) Dimapur division executive engineer, Talitemsu Jamir stated that abutment excavated for abutment on the Diphupar-A side was caving in and could cause further complications with the passage of heavy vehicles.  The department stated that heavy vehicles could use either the Seithekima road or Eralibil-Nihoto road for the time being. Expressing regret for the inconvenience, the department cautioned that it would not be held responsible in case of any eventuality arising due to non-adherence to this notice. The department also said that light vehicles could continue to use the existing temporary sub-way and also the alternate sub-way provided downstream of the bridge location.
