Heroin worth Rs 7.71 Lakh seized at Khuzama check gate

Excise Department stationed at the Khuzama Inter-State Check Gate seized 257 grams of suspected heroin valued at Rs.7.71 lakh during a routine vehicle inspection on September 10 at around 3:30 p.m. According to a press release issued by Deputy Commissioner of Excise, Venezolu Dawhuo, the duty team led by Assistant Inspector of Excise, Kezhasolie Kehie, intercepted a passenger bus (MNO1-2198) and upon searching the vehicle, officials recovered 22 soap cases of suspected “shanflower” drugs concealed in the overhead compartment.
A passenger identified as Haisosap Disong (36), claimed ownership of the contraband and was immediately apprehended. A case has been registered under Section 21(c) of the NDPS Act, 1985.
The matter is currently under active investigation by the Excise Department.
