Department of Health and Family Welfare (H&FW) Nagaland organised various programmes across the state in an effort to implement central health schemes and programmes, and to sensitise the beneficiaries and create awareness.
Longleng
One day district level advocacy and orientation on “Mission Parivaar Vikas” was conducted on September 23 at the Conference Hall of Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Longleng office.
A press release by CMO Longleng office informed that the programme was conducted for District Community Mobilizer (DCM), Block Asha Coordinator (BAC) and Block Program Manager (BPM) in the presence of CMO Longleng, Dr. Obangjungla. The resource persons, DIO (RCH/UIP), Dr. Imnameren Phom and District Program Manager (DPM), National Health Mission (NHM), Viroli Sangtam oriented the participants on the family planning demand generation and how to mobilize the beneficiary so that the beneficiary could have more better access to family planning methods and to increase more methods for planning methods. In a separate event, DHS observed “National De-worming Day” on September 19 by launching the de-worming programme at all the health units.
Wokha

Training on Standard Treatment Guidelines (STGs), International Classification of Diseases-11 (ICD-11), International Classification of Health Interventions (ICHI-11) and Health Benefit Package 2022 (HBP 2022)ABPMJAY for medical officers and nurses was held on September 23 at the Conference Hall of CMO Wokha.
A press release by CMO Wokha office stated that DC Wokha and chairman District Health Society (DHS) Ajit Kumar Ranjan highlighted the importance of ABPMJAY in terms of usefulness for the hospital management and administration. Speaking on Ayushman health card coverage in Wokha district, Ranjan said it was the lowest in the state and that the district administration along with the district ABPMJAY team was working together to improve coverage by focusing on villages with low coverage.
The resource persons were Medical Officer (MO) DH Wokha, Dr. Chumdemo Kikon and District Programme Officer (DPO) Kohima, Dr. Chiben Kithan.
Peren
Peren district marked the 4th launching of Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (AB-PMJAY) by celebrating “Ayushman Bharat Diwas” and first anniversary of “Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission” cum health mela in commemoration of 75th anniversary of Peren Township on September 23 at District Hospital, Peren.
A press release by Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Peren office informed that in a keynote address, deputy CMO and nodal officer, AB-PMJAY Peren, Dr. Lanuakum highlighted the key features, eligibility and criteria, requisite KYC documents for generating AB-PMJAY e-card, about ABDM, eligibility criteria and benefits of ABHA health ID. He also briefed the gathering on the Chief Minister’s Insurance Scheme (CMIS), which would cover government employees. At the programme, MS, DH, Peren, Dr. K. Limatula highlighted the “Ayushman Bharat Diwas” and health mela, its aims and objectives while EAC Peren, Er. Seyievilie Pfukri spoke on the benefits of AB-PMJAY and called for wide publicity of the scheme.
Phek
A two-day orientation training on Vitamin A and Albendazole was conducted for Health Care Workers (HCWs) of Phek district on September 21-22 at Dr. Wethselo T. Mero Memorial Hall, District Hospital Phek.
In a press release, National Health Mission (NHM) stated that the training organised by Vitamin Angels was attended by Community Health Officers (CHOs), Auxiliary Nursing Midwives (ANMs) and Lady Health Visitor (LHV).
During the training, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Phek, Dr. Khriezotuo Paphino appreciated the Vitamin Angels for organising such trainings for health care workers, which aims to provide healthy life to mothers and children in far flung areas.
He also urged the health care workers to be attentive, responsive and learn from the productive training.
The resource persons, State Program Officer (SPO) Alice Kamei Achumi and Sr. SPO for North East/West Bengal, Swapan Kumar oriented the trainees on the benefits, dosage, dosing interval and dosing steps etc. of vitamin A and albendazole for children under five years.
