H&FW responds to STPF ultimatum

State health and family welfare (H&FW) department has responded to the one-month ultimatum served by the Shamator Town Public Forum (STPF) on the department to deploy adequate manpower and essential surgical instruments/equipment at Community Health Center (CHC) Shamator as per Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS) norms for Community Health Centre.
In a statement issued on Friday, principal director H&FW, Dr. Vibeituonuo M. Sachu, stated that as per the IPHS norms the state was already facing huge shortage of doctors, nurses and technicians.
The principal director said that creation and upgradation of health centres over the years had created a huge shortage of manpower, infrastructure and equipment in the state.
Stating that the Health department was in the process of rationalization of health units across the state, the principal director has, therefore, requested all responsible to cooperate with the department in order to address the issues for the benefits of all its citizens.
