Hiazu Meru takes charge as deputy commissioner Noklak

A reception programme for the new deputy commissioner (DC) of Noklak, Hiazu Meru was held at the conference hall of the DC on July 31.

According to a DIPR report, speaking at the programme, Hiazu Meru said that the district would reach to a greater height if district administration along with all the departments, civil societies and stakeholders joined hands.

Noklak being the newest district in Nagaland, there would be a lot of challenges, the DC stated, urging everyone to be united and work together to overcome the challenges. Hiazu Meru sought for the cooperation from departments, NGOs, churches and people of the district and also assured that he would give his best during his stay.

Earlier, the programme was chaired by SDO (C), Noklak, C. Phuniang while Khiamniungan Tribal Council president, M. Thangou delivered the welcome address.

A short speech was also delivered by superintendent of police, Noklak, Dr. Pritpal Kaur. 

The programme was attended by officials from the district administrations, heads of departments, tribal leaders, churches leaders, DBs & GBs, staff of DC’s office and citizens.
