Highlights of 2018 Assembly polls

Out of the 11,91,513 registered voters, 6,01,707 were males and 5,89,806 female voters. A total of 195 candidates including 5 women were in the fray. 
Polling time in 103 polling stations in six districts was from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., while in the remaining 2,053 stations it was 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Webcasting was done at 533 locations while all other polling station were covered with videography. 
Of the 2,156 polling stations, 1,062 were designated ‘critical’, and 530 ‘vulnerable’. Polling time in 103 polling stations in six districts was from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., while in the remaining 2,053 stations it was 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. According to CEO media cell, 2195 “trouble makers” were identified and bonds were taken under various preventive sections under CrPC.
Rs. 1,51,68,980, 41,216 litres of liquor, 220 kgs of ganja, 59261 capsules/tablets, 66 gms brown sugar, 5 gms of heroin, 7 rolls & 321 gms of opium and 366 cough syrup were seized during the election period. 13000 polling personnel and over 47000 police personnel including central forces were deployed in for the elections.
Meanwhile, CEO Abhijit Sinha has thanked all polling personnel, voters and security forces for the successful conduct of the assembly elections.
