Highlights of NLA session: Reports tabled, Bills passed

The 4th day of the eighth session of the 14th NLA on Tuesday witnessed the laying of several annual administrative and committee reports, passage of two government Bills and an obituary reference to former legislator Dr. Longrineken, a DIPR report stated.
Chief minister Neiphiu Rio laid the annual administrative reports for 2025–26 of departments including Nagaland State Mineral Development Corporation Ltd., Technical Education, Water Resources, Legal Metrology and Consumer Protection, Sericulture, New and Renewable Energy, and Food and Civil Supplies.
Deputy chief minister, Y Patton presented the reports of the departments of Home and Border Affairs, while deputy CM (Planning & Transformation and National Highways) T.R. Zeliang tabled the report of the Planning and Transformation Department.
Minister for Power K. G. Kenye presented the annual reports of the Power department and Electrical Inspectorate. Minister for Forest, Environment and Climate Change C.L. John laid the report of the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Department. Minister for Rural Development Metsubo Jamir tabled the annual report of the State Institute of Rural Development, while minister for Women Resource Development Salhoutuonuo Kruse presented the report of the Women Resource Development Department. Minister for Higher Education Temjen Imna Along also presented the annual report of the Higher Education Department. Chairperson of the Public Accounts Committee Mhathung Yanthan presented the 139th, 140th, 141st and 142nd reports of the committee on action taken by the government on observations and recommendations contained in earlier reports based on the Comptroller and Auditor General of India’s audit findings. The House also passed the Nagaland Town and Country Planning (Fifth Amendment) Act 2025 and the Nagaland Shops and Establishments (First Amendment) Act 2025.
