A one-day training of HIV & Syphilis screening was held at CHC Jalukie, Peren on June 28 by the District AIDS Prevention Control Unit, Peren in collaboration with Project AHANA and NHM Peren. The objective of the training was to capacitate the periphery level health service providers in HIV & Syphilis screening.
According to AHANA Project’s project officer, Visevinuo Khrieo, CMO Peren, Dr. Denis Hangsing welcomed the participants and thanked the Project AHANA team for the initiative. Visevinuo Khrieo, highlighted the goals and activities of the project which aims to increase the uptake of PPTCT services in the project areas.
District Programme Officer (DAPCU Peren), Rokhovito Mor trained the ANMs on the reporting process and how it should be maintained at the sub centre level.
ICTC Jalukie CHC counselor, Caroline conducted a session on the basics of HIV AIDS, importance of pre and post test counselling and maintaining confidentiality. Lab Technician ICTC CHC Jalukie then demonstrated the process of HIV and syphilis screening. All the ANMs participated in the practical session of screening HIV & syphilis. The same training is being conducted in all districts of the state.
