HOB Union Longleng demands

Hukphang Orangkong Bhumnyu (HOB) Union, Longleng, has expressed “resentment” over the approval of Higher and Technical Edu.Department for establishing a polytechnic at Yongnyah and has submitted a representation to the chief minister and a memorandum to DC demanding re-verification of the site through “unbiased” survey.
HOB Union, stated that Yongnyah, 24 Km from Longleng, didn’t have banking or posting facilities and was only “seasonally” motorable. The Union informed that land donors recommended three sites at Hukphang, Bhumnyu, and Orangkong villages close to Longleng district headquarter. However, the Higher and Technical Education department rejected the proposal site citing it was a “hillock,” the Union lamented, to which the Union stated that Nagaland was a hilly state and many such institutes/offices were constructed on similar areas in Longleng and across the state.
Further, the Union warned that it would not compromise on its stand.
