DIMAPUR, JUN 29 (NPN): The Ayush Drug Control under the Health & Family Welfare (H&FW) directorate has commenced issuing drug licences for homoeopathy pharmacies and homoeopathy drug distributors in Nagaland with immediate effect.
In a press release, the department informed all stakeholders engaged in the sale, stocking, distribution and marketing of homoeopathic medicines that all existing and prospective homoeopathy pharmacies, wholesalers, distributors, stockists and related establishments operating in the state must obtain a drug licence from the Ayush Drug Control.
The department directed all concerned establishments to complete the licensing process and obtain the requisite licence on or before August 31, 2026.
It warned that any establishment found operating without a valid licence after the stipulated deadline would be liable for action under the provisions of the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, and the rules framed thereunder.
Detailed guidelines on the application process, required documents and fee structure may be obtained from the office of the Ayush Drug Control.
According to the department, the licensing initiative aims to strengthen regulatory compliance, ensure the availability of quality homoeopathic medicines and safeguard public health through improved monitoring and regulation of homoeopathic drug distribution across the state.
