Horn blowing competition organised at Kisama

As part of the 24th Edition of Hornbill Festival 2023, a Horn Blowing competition “Thütsükhü Kümütsü” was organized by Tribal Vision at Naga Heritage village, Kisama on December 6.


The competition was nd sponsored by the Department of Youth Resources & Sports under the support of the Tourism Department. The competition witnessed participation from 16 tribes.


Participants from Angami, Chang and Chakhesang bagged the first, second and third positions. They received a Rs.10,000, Rs.5000 and Rs.3000 respectively along with certificates. The prizes were given away by Surhuveyi Tetseo.


Blowing of horn, also known as Thütsükhü Kümütsü, is derived from the Chakhesang dialect. This competition was organised to revive this dying practice and create an awareness amongst the present generation, DIPR report stated.
