Horti officer visits Yajang project

Dr. M. L. Choudury, Commissioner of Horticulture, Ministry of Agriculture & Co-operation, GoI, New Delhi, visited Horticulture Technology Mission (HTM) Project, Centre of Excellence, Horti Project at Yajang under Mokokchung district on July 15.
During his visit the Commissioner also interacted with Yajang village council members and discussed their problems and constraints of their needs for expansion of Horticulture development and he assured them help by providing more financial assistance for the development of Horticulture infrastructure and marketing facilities.
Earlier, on July 14 the Commissioner also visited the 300 hectares bamboo plantation at Merangkong under Mokokchung district. Dr. M. L. Choudury was accompanied by many high officials from the Department of Horticulture and Nagaland Bamboo Agencies including Development Commissioner and Agriculture Production Commissioner, Alemtemshi Jamir; Commissioner & Secretary Horticulture and IPR, Sentiyanger, Commissioner & Secretary to C.M. L. Kire, Director of Horticulture, Rongsentemjen and Deputy Conservator of Forest, Amen Yaden. The Commissioner and his entourage were accorded warm reception by the villagers at Yajang.
