Department of Horticulture, Nagaland had paid a maiden visit to the Dream Dragon Fruit Farm on September 30, the first farm where exotic Dragon Fruit is produced and sold by demand only and located at Shitovi village.
A press note by Horticulture deputy director, Dr. I. Moa Walling stated that director and officials interacted with the owner about the successful adaptation and its productive cultivation of this exotic fruit in Shitovi village. The director and other senior officers of the department discussed about the scope and cultivation of Dragon Fruit in the plains and foot hills area of the state for which the department would initiate for proposal to the ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare.
Dream Dragon Fruit Farm started in 2013, owned by Lucy Ngullie Thomas is a 5 hectare farm and is accredited nursery with 1 star rating, capable to produce and sell dragon fruit cuttings to interested farmers throughout the country.
Director N. Amos Ao appreciated the excellent achievement of this exotic fruit cultivation and nursery development by Lucy and asserted for all possible support from the department in future.
