Hozukhe Kiphimi Kuqhakulu (Hozukhe Students Union) celebrated its silver jubilee on December 28 and 29 under the theme “prospective generation,” with junior engineer Electrical Dimapur, Er. Kiyeto Shohe as the chief guest.
FGN kilonser natural resources, V. Phutoi Zhimomi unveiled the jubilee monolith, deputy CMO Dimapur, Dr.Antoly Suu was the speaker of the jubilee while assistant surgeon (Veterinary) Dr. Auto V, Kiphire graced the concluding session as guest of honour.
Speaking at the inaugural session as chief guest, Er. Kiyeto dwelt on the theme of the jubilee stating that younger generation play a pivotal role in the prospect of a society and thus, must pursue their goal and add towards the growth of Naga society.
Outlining the importance of education, the chief guest said education was an instrument that could make an individual or a nation rich and powerful while also a bridge for peace and unity among different nations or individuals. He called upon the students to set education as their primary focus and to attain it with humility and hard work.
He encouraged the students not to depend solely on government jobs but to look beyond government jobs and grab many good opportunities that come along. He also called upon the parents to give more attention on their children, invest on them and mould them to be better citizens. V. PhutoiZhimomi, who was the founding general secretary of Hozukhe Kiphimi Kuqhakulu reflected upon on how the union was formed in the village. He also appealed to the parents to pay more attention to children in their education and in everyday activities. He was of the view that mass participation of students in curricular activities would help them will widen the parameter of their learning abilities, which was very crucial in today’s world.
On the occasion of jubilee, he challenged the students to recommit themselves and set a goal to achieve.
GB Hozukhe village HeyitoAhumi, president Western Sumi Students’ Union Atokiho Sumi and SDO Power department V. Hukato Jimomi also exhorted the students on the occasion. Former president of the union Ghotoi Jimomi chaired the concluding session.
