HRHAN appeals citizens to fight against corruption

Human Rights Help Association Nagaland (HRHAN), which held its inaugural ceremony under the motto “Step towards humanity and nation”, at Rotary club Dimapur, on Sunday appealed the citizens of Nagaland to stand together against corruption.


Addressing media persons, state president HRHAN Sudip Narayan Dutta informed that human rights were a set of principles concerned with equality and fairness which recognize the freedom to make choices about citizen lives and to develop the potential as human beings, which were about living a life free from fear, harassment or discrimination.


He said Human Rights Help Association founded in September 2021 by national president Dr. Sonu Singh in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh has been registered under Ministry of Corporate Affairs, and has become an international organization having branches all over India except Arunachal Pradesh and other 20 countries.


Dutta mentioned that the organization include civil and political rights, economic, social and cultural rights, right to health, right to education, right to work, right to prosper and to take part in social and cultural activities.
He said the organization also focus on areas like anti- corruption, anti-drugs, crime prevention, food security, consumer rights, child labour, women empowerment, road safety and child trafficking.


OC East police station while gracing the event as special guest acknowledged the HRHAN for the initiative and said that such organization would be the pillar of the society if the concerned appointees play their role deliberately assigned by the organization.
Expressing concern on the rise of crime in the society, he expressed hope that the organization along with the law enforcement agencies would work together and protect the society and its citizens.


HRHAN would be led by State president Sudip Narayan Dutta, Kitoho Chophy as vice president, Biswajit Banik as general secretary and Santi Acharjee as Dimapur district president. Earlier, the programme was chaired by HRHAN organizing secretary Yudi Kamal and vote of thanks by Dimapur district president Santi Acharjee.
