A two-day training programme on “Technology Clinic on Meat Processing” was conducted from June 24 to 25, 2025 at ICAR – National Research Centre on Mithun, Medziphema, in collaboration with the Department of Industries & Commerce, Government of Nagaland under the RAMP (Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance) scheme.
The inaugural session was graced by ICAR-NRC on Mithun director, Dr. Girish Patil S, and deputy director of Industries & Commerce and RAMP nodal officer, Keneirienuo T. Zatsu.
Altogether, 27 entrepreneurs from five districts of Nagaland took part in the training. The sessions focused on hands-on preparation of condiments, seasonings, binders, and techniques for developing Mithun-based value-added products such as nuggets, sausages, and patties.
As part of the exposure visit, participants toured Life Ministry Learning Centre—an NGO partnering with ICAR-NRC—and the Mithun farm at Medziphema to learn practical aspects of Mithun rearing and management.
The institute extended best wishes to all participants in their future ventures in the meat processing sector.
