ICAR Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Dimapur organized Swachhta Pakwada from December 16 to 31, 2024 under the leadership of Senior Scientist cum Head, Dr. Phool Kumari.
The campaign, led by in-charge of Swachhta Abhiyan, Dr. Moanaro, aimed to raise awareness about cleanliness and environmental sustainability.
Key activities held during the campaign, included Swachhta Pledge Day, where participants vowed to maintain cleanliness, along with awareness programs on sanitation and waste management.
A cleanliness drive was conducted at public spaces and KVK campus, while a Green drive to promote tree planting. Community outreach programs were conducted to engage local villagers in cleanliness efforts, while the Kisan Diwas celebration highlighted sustainable farming and environmental care.
An essay and drawing competition on “Swachhta: A Collective Responsibility” was held for 25 school children, along with demonstrations on wastewater recycling and cleaning of local public places.
KVK Dimapur staff, including CTO, Plant Breeding, Dr. Bendangla Imsong, SMS, Agril. Extension, Marneni Divya Sree, SMS, Fruit Science, Gulshan Kumar, and SMS, Home Science, Dr. Chingakham Sima Chanu, played a vital role in the success of the initiative.
