
ICAR-NRC on Mithun celebrated a week long “Hindi Week” from September 14 to 20.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, SP (Organized Crime), Kohima, Vishal Chauhan appreciated the efforts made by the Hindi Cell of ICAR-NRC on Mithun to popularize Hindi language among the staff and school children.
He mentioned Hindi as a connecting link among Indians belonging to different cultures, and motivated school children present during the function to learn Hindi language beside English and local languages.
Earlier, director of the institute, Dr. M. H. Khan welcomed the special guest and explained the various roles of ICAR in improving livelihoods in Nagaland and other states.
A video on semi-intensive mithun farming was also shown to the audience so that farmers may take up semi-intensive mithun farming in near future to improve their livelihoods and conserve mithun population.
Scientist and incharge, Hindi Cell, Dr. Vivek Joshi coordinated the week long celebration and said that 10 Hindi competitions were organized during the “Hindi Week”.
