The ICAR-National Research Centre on Mithun (ICAR-NRCM), Medziphema, concluded a seven-day internship programme for veterinary students of the College of Veterinary Sciences & Animal Husbandry (CVSc & AH), CAU, Jalukie, held from July 25 to 31.
The internship focused on hands-on training in Mithun management, covering scientific husbandry practices, disease control, and veterinary care.
Daily assessments and reporting mechanisms ensured structured learning and skill development. The programme was coordinated by senior scientist Dr. Kobu Khate and scientist Dr. Narendra V. N.
In a related event, a workshop on Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) was organised by St. Joseph University, Chümoukedima, in collaboration with ICAR-NRCM and the department of Biotechnology.
Held at the university’s Seminar Hall, the workshop aimed to raise IPR awareness among students and researchers.
The session was chaired by Dr. Lorenbeni Kikon, assistant professor, department of Biotechnology, and featured talks by Dr. Jayanta Kumar Chamuah, senior scientist, and Dr. Narendra V. N., scientist, ICAR-NRCM. A quiz competition was also conducted to enhance understanding of IPR concepts. Vote of thanks was delivered by Dr. Naorem Chanu Sumedha, assistant professor, department of Biotechnology.
