WOKHA, JUN 6 (NPN): The Indian Dental Association (IDA), Nagaland State Branch organised a one day Continuing Oral & Dental Education (CODE) programme on June 6 at Hammock Resort, Wokha, bringing together 62 dental doctors from government and private sectors across the state.
Delivering the exhortation, retired director of Dental Services Dr. Meribeni Odyuo stressed the importance of lifelong learning, professional fellowship and ethical practice in dentistry. Appreciating the participation of dental professionals from various districts, she said such involvement reflected the enthusiasm and commitment of the dental fraternity towards professional development.
She noted that while dentistry continues to evolve with new technologies and specialisations, practitioners must remain grounded in ethics, compassion, integrity, honesty, humility and empathy. Dr. Meribeni encouraged younger dentists to continually upgrade their skills while upholding the values of the profession.
Technical sessions were conducted by Dr. Hollo Ayemi and Dr. Aneizo Khruomo, who spoke on “Emergency in Dental Services and Management and Oral Lesions and Management” respectively. The sessions featured active participation and interactive discussions.
Short speeches were also delivered by Dr. I. Arenla Walling, director (Dental); Dr. N. Moa Jamir, joint director (Dental); and retired dental director Dr. N. Savino.
Earlier, on behalf of the Wokha Dental Association, Dr. Mhao Jungio welcomed the gathering, followed by a felicitation programme led by Dr. Sevolu Tetseo, convenor of CODE. The programme was chaired by Dr. Myingthungo Ngullie, while the vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Sevolu Tetseo.
