A two-day capacity-building training programme on “Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Compliance and Project Management” organised by the Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) in collaboration with HCL Foundation through their HCL Academy for Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) on May 20-21.
A press release by IDAN stated that the comprehensive two-day capacity building training participated by 35 NGOs from across Nagaland was graced by principal secretary to the chief minister and development commissioner, R. Ramakrishnan, as the special guest.
In his address, Ramakrishnan emphasised the importance of NGOs in fostering the empowerment of Naga society and thanked HCL Foundation for its partnership with IDAN in spearheading initiatives for the betterment of Nagaland.
Global CSR HCL Tech & Director HCL Foundation, vice president, Dr. Nidhi Pundhir, reiterated the foundation’s commitment to supporting NGOs through collaborative efforts and capacity-building initiatives.
In the inaugural programme, the welcome address was delivered by IDAN joint secretary, Reny Wilfred, while IDAN undersecretary, I. Changsang, delivered the closing remarks.
Throughout the two-day workshop, resource faculties from HCL Foundation, Dr. Surabhi Yadav, Nikhil Pant, Rahul Kumar, Dr Chandrayee Das, and Subhash Mittal delivered insightful presentations on various topics.
Sessions on the overview and evolution of CSR, compliance with Section 135 of the Companies Act 2013, and CSR activities outlined in Project Schedule VII of the Companies Act 2013 were particularly enlightening. The second day of the training delved into fundamental aspects of CSR policy, guiding participants on how to prepare effective CSR policies, and strategies for developing communication and resource mobilization.
The training concluded with a virtual presentation covering crucial topics such as accounting, taxation, latest amendments, and notifications relevant to CSR initiatives. Discussions on assessment and certification provided participants with the opportunity to share their key learning and action points.
Meanwhile, IDAN said the training served as a milestone achieved in enhancing the capabilities of NGOs in Nagaland, fostering collaboration between stakeholders, and driving impactful social initiatives for the betterment of the community.
