DIMAPUR: Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) and Atria Institute of Technology have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Friday proposing collaboration in academic cooperation, skill development, student engagement programmes and educational advancement for students of Nagaland.
According to DIPR report, under the MoU, the Future Achievers Scholarship Programme will be offered through IDAN to meritorious students based on academic potential. Selected students will be monitored for performance and attendance, while IDAN will evaluate applications and submit shortlisted candidates by June 15, 2026. A detailed notification will follow the formal signing of the MoU.
The MoU exchange was a highlight of the inaugural session of EduConnect 2026: Connecting Education to Opportunities, a two day educational and career oriented event which began on May 15 at IBHIC, Dimapur. The programme aims to strengthen linkages between education, skill development and employment opportunities for youth.
Chairman of IDAN and advisor to the chief minister, Abu Mehta, described EduConnect as a significant initiative, noting that thousands of students had benefitted from earlier editions. He urged students to equip themselves with education and technological skills, cautioning against misuse of social media while encouraging responsible use of technology for self improvement. Additional secretary, finance department & IDAN, Vineet Kumar, said EduConnect was designed to create a “window of opportunities” with live streaming across all 16 districts. He advised students to align career choices with personal interests, future relevance and long term goals.
The inaugural session also featured addresses by Akash Baishya, founder of Cryptex Solo, and Anil R, manager, international admission, Atria Institute of Technology, who encouraged students to pursue careers aligned with passion and emerging opportunities.
Technical sessions covered diverse career avenues including filmmaking, business and finance, hospitality, social work, fashion and creative arts. Presentations were delivered by representatives from the University of Liverpool, State Institute of Hotel Management, SBI, NEISSR, FTII and North East Christian University.
EduConnect 2026 will continue on May 16 with further sessions and institutional interactions aimed at guiding students towards informed career decisions.
