IDAN organises two-day event to showcase youths talents

Investment and Development Authority of Nagaland (IDAN) organized a two-day event that showcased the extraordinary talents of the youth in Nagaland at Bloom Bazaar Kohima on November 10 and 11. The event was sponsored by the Department of Under Development Areas (DUDA), Nagaland State Disaster Management Authority (NSDMA), Nagaland Coffee, and the Department of Health & Family Welfare.


Altogether, 13 schools participated in the essay competition, where students explored the theme “Landscape of Floriculture Industry in Nagaland.”
In the essay competition, first place was bagged by Keletsole Mekro of Dainty Buds Hr. Sec. School, Kohima, who received a Rs. 10,000/- cash award and gift hampers from Bloom Bazaar Merch and Nagaland Coffee. The 1st runners-up was bagged by Limvishi S of Mount Carmel Hr. Sec. School Kohima, with Rs. 5,000 cash award and gift hampers from Bloom Bazaar Merch and Nagaland Coffee.


Consolation winners were Tangsoi from Animation & Graphic Academy, Henminthang Haulai from Unnati Skill Center, and Kevinuo from Fernwood School, who received Rs. 1,000 each with gift hampers from Bloom Bazaar Merch and Nagaland Coffee.


On the second day, 31 participants engaged in the art competition with the theme “Flora of Nagaland”, displaying exceptional critical thinking and creativity.
In the art competition, the 1st prize was bagged by Ditube Iheilung, who received a Rs. 10,000 cash award with gift hampers from Bloom Bazaar Merch and Nagaland Coffee. 1st runners-up by Methshing H Phom, who received a Rs. 5,000 cash award and gift hampers from Bloom Bazaar Merch and Nagaland Coffee.


Consolation winners: Pallavi, Sharva, and Nounegutuo Khezhie, each received a Rs. 1,000 cash award and gift hamper from Bloom Bazaar Merch and Nagaland Coffee.
Excitingly, the winning art pieces will be on permanent display at the Art Gallery at Bloom Bazaar, accessible to the public every weekend. This decision ensures a lasting celebration of the participants’ creativity.


The judging panel for essay competition were Veralu Vero from Sazolie College, Kohima, and Tsutipang Jamir from Don Bosco College (DBC), brought expertise to the evaluation process. While the judging panel comprise of Among Venuh, a full-time artist with 8 years of experience in fine arts, and Vivo Mor, a self-taught artist inspired by the old masters of classical realism, brought a distinct perspective to the event.
