In a bid to offer exposure for local students to educational institutions outside the State and interact with their representatives, Investment and Development Authority, Nagaland (IDAN) will organise Edu Connect Fair here on May 10 and May 11.
Announcing this at a press conference here on Wednesday, IDAN chief executive officer Alemtemshi Jamir said the authority partnered with Northeast Educational Council to both identify and verify the authenticity of the institutions, including colleges and universities, that would be participating at the fair.
He said so far about 40 colleges from various parts of the country had confirmed their participation. He said that the objective of the fair is to provide a platform to local students where they will be able to connect with educational institutions outside the State and at the same time learn about various courses and vocational trainings provided by institutions.
He urged more institutions to come and join the fair, adding that IDAN wanted more participation of students from districts like Mon, Tuensang and other such outlying areas. Jamir said there were many educational institutions that provided free education about which Naga students were unaware, while some of these institutions even help students avail educational loans.
Claiming that Edu Connect Fair would be beneficial for all Naga students, he urged the students to participate in the event in large numbers.
Jamir also mentioned that there was a slight shift in the policy of IDAN. Since it was difficult to bring in investors to Nagaland, he said the authority intended to encourage State’s own home-grown entrepreneurs.
