Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) Maj Gen Vikas Lakhera and IGAR (South) Maj Gen Rajan Sharawat have been promoted to the post of Lieutenant General. In a post X, DG Assam Rifles Lt Gen PC Nair and all ranks of Assam Rifles congratulated the IGARs. Nari said that it was a testament to their hard work and dedication.
According to a statement, Major Gen Sharawat, based in Manipur has worked tirelessly to quell the ongoing Manipur violence while Major Gen Vikas Lakhera, overseeing Nagaland and South Arunachal Pradesh has played a proactive role to thwart illegal cross border activities and activities of insurgents.
