Assam Rifles under the aegis of headquarters Inspector General of Assam Rifles (North) has been organising various civic programmes across the state.
36 AR: 36 Assam Rifles (AR) under aegis of Headquarters IGAR (N) organised a picnic for children of ‘Christian Servanthood Orphanage Home on April 3, in Peren.
During the event various games to include musical chair and tug of war were conducted and the children were given a health check-up by medical staff of Assam Rifles.
Altogether 68 children and locals attended the programme. Assam Rifles also pledged to sponsor education of two children of Orphanage namely Izic and Ralamyi, students of Class IX, Class VIII respectively for the entire academic session of (2017-18).
Later, civil administration, staff of orphanage home and locals expressed their gratitude and appreciated efforts of Assam Rifles for conduct of the event and noble act.
9 Bihar: 9 Bihar under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) organised a medical camp on April 3 at Shengha Wamsa village of Mon District.
In a report, 9 Bihar informed that free medical checkup and free medicines were provided to 308 patients including 198 adults and 115 children during the camp.
The medical officer gave vaccinations and medicines for common ailments to the civilians. Also, the villagers were briefed on good healthcare and hygiene practices to be followed to ensure long and disease free life.
28 AR: 28 Assam Rifles (AR) under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) constructed a borewell at Tseminyu to alleviate the problem of drinking water scarcity in the area, AR informed.
