Ighanumi Kuqhakulu Dimapur (IKD) celebrated its 25th anniversary at Hayiro UNB, Burma Camp here on Saturday. The event was graced by Sukhato A. Sema MLA of 13th Pughoboto A/C as special guest.
Extending jubilee greetings, Dr. Sukhato said reaching 25th years was a milestone achievement and reminded the members of IKD on sacrifices and hardships rendered by the pioneers.
He also encouraged everyone to focus on their talents and make better use of it to contribute to the community in particular and society in general.
Dr. Sukhato also spoke on the importance of preserving mother tongue mentioning that it was the root of one’s culture and tradition.
Greetings were extended by Sümi Aphuyemi Küqhakulu Dimapur (SAKD) president Shikato Shohe, advocate and notary public Otoka H Yeptho, Ighanumi Inalimi Kuposhukulu president Teli Kipa Sheqi and Ighanumi head GB Nikuto K Swu.
Jubilee souvenir was unveiled by pastor AG church, Ighanumi, Kaito Swu, TTC, Thahekhu, Associate professor Dr. James I. Swu delivered the jubilee sermon, special number was presented by Mughami melos, folk song was presented by Azanoqo and bible verse was read out by NCRC Purana Bazar youth pastor Shikato Swu.
Earlier, the programme began with an invocation by Kanili I. Swu, welcome speech by jubilee planning board IKD, chairman, Dr. Hukato Swu. Later, vote of thanks was delivered by IKD president, Kiyevi I. Swu and benediction by IBC ex women pastor Shikhuli Kiba.
