Ikuto urges Aghunato leaders to view census beyond politics

DIMAPUR: Advisor of Land Resources department, G. Ikuto Zhimomi, has urged village leaders of Aghunato area to view the upcoming census exercise beyond political lines and to prioritise development and upliftment of the region. He was speaking at a consultative meeting with Kukami (GBs) of Aghunato area, from Nihoshe to Khumishi village, held at Kukami Ki, Aghunato town on May 27.
The meeting was organised by the Aghunato Area Kukami Kuqhakulu and also attended by GBs from Asuto area and Tizu Island.
During the discussion, the advisor asked the GBs if there were any resolutions passed by the Aghunato area GBs that had not been followed or accepted by him or by former MLAs. He reassured the gathering that any resolution passed unanimously by the GBs would be accepted and acted upon. The meeting provided a platform for frank consultation between the advisor and village representatives, with participants raising local concerns and development priorities.
Acknowledging the contributions and presence of GBs from neighbouring Asuto area and Tizu Island, Zhimomi reiterated his commitment to work collaboratively with community leaders for the welfare of Aghunato.
He further stated that the people of Aghunato, through their MLA and advisor, were ready to cooperate with the present government under the leadership of chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio for the area’s all round development. He appealed for public support to government programmes while urging peaceful, disturbance free participation to ensure speedy and sustainable progress.
