ILF, LJP (RV) Nagaland stateunit fete on NPF-NDPP merger

DIMAPUR, OCT 20 (NPN)

Independent Legislators Forum (ILF), Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) and Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas (LJP-RV) Nagaland state unit have extended congratulations on the recent merger of Naga People’s Front (NPF) and Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP).
ILF convenor Bangtick Phorn and co-convener Dr. Neisatuo Mero, Independent MLAs, said that the merger of two regional parties marked a significant era for the whole of the Nagas in safeguarding its identity and the spirit of regionalism in the political history of Nagaland.
ILF also conveyed congratulated Dr. Neiphiu Rio on being “elected unopposed” as the leader of NPF Legislature Party. They said that the continued leadership of Dr. Rio would build “concrete pillars” and would also usher in a new way for peace and development. “It will also pull the ropes of progress into greener pastures,” the two independent legislators said.
Maintaining that “this matured political decision” would bring in political stability and the legacy of the Nagas would continue to prosper, the duo affirmed to extend their support and cooperation in this new endeavour.
LJPRV Nagaland state unit along with Dr. Sukhato A. Sema, MLA and leader of the party, and Naiba Konyak, MLA and chief whip, extended congratulations on the “historic merger” of NPF and NDPP under the leadership of the chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio.
In a press release, LJP (RV) state unit president Viloto Pukhato said the merger marked a significant step toward political stability, unity, and progress in the state.
LJPRV state unit expressed belief that the merger would strengthen the collective resolve of all like-minded parties and leaders who shared the vision of lasting peace, inclusive growth, and prosperity for the Naga people.
The party affirmed support for the leadership of chief minister Dr. Neiphiu Rio and the newly unified political entity. LJPRV state unit also reaffirmed its commitment to working with the government for the welfare, development and unity. It also affirmed to strengthen the collective leadership to resolve long pending Naga political issue.
