Security forces in Manipur’s Tengnoupal district seized 13 kg of WY tablets, worth around Rs 30 crore in the international market, during an operation in Tengnoupal district bordering Myanmar.
An official source, however, said that the carrier of the drug escaped.
Manipur police, in its daily law and order update issued late on Monday (September 22) said that the contraband drugs was recovered by the security forces during an operation along Sita-Tengnoupal Road in Tengnoupal district on September 22.
The security forces recovered 600 packets containing approximately 1,20,000 WY tablets, weighing 13 kgs from a Kenbo bike abandoned by an unknown rider upon seeing the security forces, the police said.
A police source estimated the value of the seized drug to around Rs 30 crore in the international market.
The seized contraband items and the two-wheeler bike were seized and investigation is underway to identify and arrest the rider, the police added.
