Illegal liquor destroyed in Wokha

In yet another seizing and destruction of illegal liquor in Wokha district, illegal liquor totaling 85 cases were destroyed at the outskirts of Wokha town by Wokha police Thursday.
Wokha police informed that the illegal liquor including 58 cases of MC (Plastic) Rum, 4 cases of MC (Quarter bottle) Whiskey, 10 cases of Foster (Canned) Beer, 9 cases of Heman (Bottle) Beer and 4 cases of Kingfisher (Canned) Beer were seized from two vehicles by the A Coy of 17 AR some 30 kms northwest of Wokha town in between Wokha-Merapani road Wednesday.
Five persons including Oren Kikon, Renbeni Kikon, Martha Patton, Yanpolo Kikon and Thunglamo Ngullie were also apprehended along with the seized liquor and two vehicles bearing registration numbers AS-03G-2806 (Tata Sumo) and AS-23-F-1274 (Maruti Van). Later, all were handed over to Wokha police for necessary prosecution.
Wokha police further informed that a case under Wokha PS C/No: 002/15 U/S 44 NLTP Act for possessing illegal IMFL of various quailities has been registered against the accused.
