‘Imagi.land’, a place for innovation opened

“Imagi.land”, a place for dreams and innovation at Kisama, Naga Heritage village, under the department of Tourism was inaugurated on Saturday.
The newly inaugurated place, previously known as Children’s Park, will also host social events and recreational activities.
Kako Yhoshu, who hosted the programme gave a brief summary of the team “Imagi.nation”. Yhoshu said that after a final year thesis student, Tejano Seleyi, came up with the idea of redesigning the Kisama Heritage village, the team prepared a proposal to the department of Tourism to redesign the Children’s Park.
Advisor to chief minister and chairman of National Mountain Running Committee, Abu Metha, who inaugurated the “Imagi.land” highlighted on the steps taken by the state government to promote entrepreneurship in the state.
Expressing happiness on the inauguration of a new initiative, Metha said that for a new Nagaland, it needed the imagination and dreams of the young people.
Advisor Tourism, Art & Culture, Khehovi Yepthomi, who also graced the event as guest of honour, called upon the people to maintain the place properly.
He lauded the department of Tourism and key players for the successful implementation with a limited budget.
He also acknowledged the hardwork and effort of the Kohima Smart City Development Limited (KSCDL) for developing small parks and children’s playgrounds and also innovatively transforming waste spaces and converting/ reimaging them into recreational places and parks.
Additional director, department of Tourism Veyielo Duolo said that the department in a span of 52 days and limited budget, converted the children’s park into an imagiland, a place for imagination and innovation to make dreams into a reality.
Earlier, the inauguration programme began with an invocation by associate pastor, UBC, Visato Yhoshu and a special song by Penthungo Kikon and vote of thanks by executive director & founder of imagi.nation, Kezhazelhou Ltu.
