IMD forecasts heavy rain across North East region

DIMAPUR, JUN 14 (NPN): The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall over parts of North East India during the week.
According to the IMD, fairly widespread to widespread rainfall is likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during 15-20 June. IMD also predicted isolated thunderstorms and lightning over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura from June 15-17.
Isolated heavy rainfall likely over Arunachal Pradesh on June 15-16 and 19-20; Assam & Meghalaya on June 15-16 and June 20; and Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on June 15. Further, isolated very heavy rainfall is expected over Arunachal Pradesh on June 17-18 and over Assam & Meghalaya from June 17-19, IMD stated.
