India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted fairly widespread to heavy rainfall over North Eastern region in the coming days. As per IMD’s daily bulletin issued on Sunday, fairly widespread to widespread light to moderate rainfall accompanied with thunderstorm, lightning and gusty winds likely over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Tripura and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim during the next 7 days.
The Met department also said that isolated heavy to very heavy rainfall is very likely over Assam and Meghalaya during June 3-4 with heavy rainfall on June 5 and 6 and isolated heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh and Tripura during June 3-4.
It said that the is strong southwesterly/ southerly winds prevailing from Bay of Bengal to North Eastern states in lower tropospheric level. A reduction in the intensity of heatwave conditions is likely in the country over the next three days, the weather office said on Sunday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said heat wave conditions over northwest, central and east India were likely to continue with reduced intensity during the next three days.
