IMD forecasts rainfall across North East region

DIMAPUR, JUN 8 (NPN): India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday forecasted fairly widespread to widespread rainfall over North East region during June 9-14, 2026.
In its daily weather bulletin, the Met department predicted isolated thunderstorm, lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) over Assam & Meghalaya during June 9 & 10, with gusty winds (speed reaching 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph) over Assam & Meghalaya during June11-12; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during June 9.
It also stated that isolated thunderstorm & lightning was likely over Arunachal Pradesh during June 9-12; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during June 10-12.
Further, IMD informed that isolated heavy rainfall was likely Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during June 9-14 with isolated very heavy rainfall also likely over Arunachal Pradesh during June 9-14; Assam & Meghalaya during June 9-14.
