IMD forecasts rainfall in NE

DIMAPUR, MAY 20 (NPN): India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast isolated heavy rainfall over North East and adjoining east India during May 21-26, 2026.
In its weather bulletin, IMD stated that scattered to fairly widespread light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorm, lightning & gusty winds (speed reaching 40-50 kmph) was likely over Assam & Meghalaya on May 23 & 24; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura on May 21. Further, the Met department predicted isolated heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh on May 22, 25 & 26; Assam & Meghalaya on May 21, 22 & 26; Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram & Tripura during May 22-26; with isolated very heavy rainfall over Arunachal Pradesh on May 23 & 24; Assam & Meghalaya during May 23-25.
